"This work consists of a checklist that provides the first complete, vouchered account of Maryland's vascular flora. In total, the authors list and discuss 3,521 taxa and document 2,912 established taxa for the state of Maryland, 71.9% of which are native and 28.1% of which are introduced. Of the native species, 740 (25.5%) are tracked by the Maryland Natural Heritage Program as of conservation concern. Excluded are 323 taxa reported from Maryland by previous authors, and justifications are provided for these exclusions"-- Provided by publisher.
