Guntur, one of the 9 coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, lies between 15° 18' and 16° 50' of the North latitudes and 79° 10' and 80° 55' of the Eastern longitudes. It covers an area of 11, 400 sq. km. It has mangroves, dry deciduous forests and scrub jungles.
